Friday September 16,2011 : Coalition strengthens advisory board with new appointments

The recently-formed Washington DC-based coalition FairPlayUSA has announced the addition of Former FBI Director Louis Freeh and former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge to its Advisory Board towards strengthening its push of legalising online poker in the U.S.

The coalition was formed to educate the public and policymakers on the need to reform federal Internet gambling laws and comprises law enforcement officials and consumer protection experts amongst others.

Louis Freeh, former Director FBI said: "Current federal laws fail to provide U.S. law enforcement with vital tools to address illegal internet gambling, enabling a ‘wild-west' atmosphere.

"I am joining FairPlayUSA to improve this environment by clarifying these laws, better empowering law enforcement agencies to crack down on violators and using licensing and regulation to ensure safe and legal online poker."
