RESTRAINING ORDER PLACED ON INTERNET POKER EXEC

Posted 1/11/11 : Irish court rules that departing exec must not disclose confidential business information

The highly competitive nature of the online poker industry surfaced in an Irish court this week when departing Full Tilt Poker web operations manager Liall Humphreys had a restraining order slapped on him by a High Court judge.

The Examiner.ie reports that legal representatives for Full Tilt, which employs 700 people in the Dublin area, applied for the order after it was discovered that Humphreys, who is moving to rival Paddy Power, had emailed sensitive Full Tilt data to a personal account in breach of his confidentiality contract.

Full Tilt's legal team claimed that the company's market position could be seriously undermined if the information reaches its competitors.
