Online betting exchange Betfair announced the creation of an emerging markets position, this week and has hired Matt Robinson to fill it.
Robinson will join the company as Emerging Markets Director from the position of Central Marketing Director at Digital Entertainment plc and will report to Niall Wass, Betfair's Chief Commercial Officer.
A company spokesperson said the new position reflects Betfair's commitment to driving growth on an international basis, particularly in emerging markets and Robinson's focus will be on the management and growth of the company's commercial emerging markets strategy.
Niall Wass, Betfair's Chief Commercial Officer added: "The creation of this role is further testimony to Betfair's international aspirations and I am delighted to have Matt on board. Matt will play a vital role within the commercial function as we aim to position Betfair for entry into new countries and territories around the world."
