Scott Seiver wins $25 000 buy-in LA Classic High Roller competition

3.3.10 – Scott Seiver, a 24-year-old poker pro from Cold Harbor, New York, is having a profitable year. Just five days after earning $215 000 for a fourth placing in the Pokerstars NAPT on Feb. 23rd he has triumphed in the $25 000 buy-in LA Classic High Roller competition.

In achieving his best yet win, worth $425 334, Seiver bested a star studded field of 41 top players that included Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Erick Lindgren Daniel Alaei and Ashton Griffin, along with a six man final table that culminated in an exciting heads up with Alaei at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles.

To reach the heads up, Seiver and Daniel Alaei had to eliminate Will Molson, Tommy Vedes, Lee Markholt and finally Jason Mercier, who finished in third place.

Seiver started the heads up with a small chip advantage, in a clash that was intense but lasted only a few hands.

"I don't know if I can stand up here and say I'm the best at these, but I like to think of myself as one of the better players," Seiver said after the game. "It's always about walking a fine line between confidence and hubris."

The win brings Seiver's career earnings to $1 908 300.
