Zheng Bin Online Gambling Fugitive arrested

The internet works for law enforcement

In China, a man wanted in connection with internet gambling offences during the 2010 football World Cup has been arrested at a police checkpoint, reports the Shanghai Daily newspaper.

The police were checking traffic for drunk drivers when fugitive Zheng Bin drove up and was pulled aside as a drunk in charge suspect. On this occasion the internet worked against him, however, because police were equipped with internet connected PDAs on which the warrant for Zheng's arrest appeared when police records were accessed by the arresting officer.

Zheng is now being held in custody for further investigation and his vehicle has been impounded, police said.
