Anthony Ruberto wins World Poker Tour Jacksonville

Wednesday, November 23, 2011 : RUBERTO TAKES THE WORLD POKER TOUR JACKSONVILLE HONOURS

$325 928 pay day for "Boston Tony"…who hails from Florida!

Florida poker pro Anthony "Boston Tony" Ruberto has taken down the World Poker Tour Jacksonville tournament, boosting his career earnings to around $750 000 with the main prize of $325,928, and booking himself a free seat in the $25 000 WPT Championships in May.

Ruberto started the final table action with a two million chip lead, which he leveraged into a win with good cards and consummate skill and discipline after besting finalists Sam Soverel, Lisa Hamilton, Vitor Coelho, Art Rodriguez and Darryll Fish.

Ruberto was only overtaken once during the final table action, a situation which he quickly redressed to continue on his winning journey by eliminating three surviving opponents.

When WSOP Ladies champ for 2009 Lisa Hamilton went out in the third spot, the scene was set for a heads up between Ruberto and Sam Soverel, but the former's dominant lead made the result inevitable and Soverel had to be content with the runner up prize of $187,762.
