The Betclic Everest group has augmented its Portuguese online sports betting license with an online casino license, bringing to four the number of operators licensed by regulator Serviço Regulação e Inspeção de Jogos do Turismo de Portugal since the market was liberalized earlier this year.
 
There has not exactly been a rush to license in the new online jurisdiction due to operator concerns regarding high tax rates and government indecision regarding the opening up of the current ring-fenced online poker market.
 
Betclics latest license has been issued to the companies Portuguese subsidiary BEM Operations, which will manage the Betclic.pt website.
