Tuesday December 6,2011 : MULTI MILLION DOLLAR POKER

Many millions and a new platinum WSOP winner's bracelet planned

According to reports on ESPN the live poker circuit could be about to see the mother of all tournaments with 22 firm commitments in a $1 million buy-in spectacular that could generate a first prize of over $12 million – larger than the biggest World Series of Poker main event payday to date.

On Monday, Caesars Interactive Entertainment announced that 22 players have already committed to the Big One for One Drop, tournament, which will take place as part of the WSOP 2012 schedule, running from July 1 to July 3 at the Rio in Las Vegas. A special platinum WSOP bracelet will be commissioned for the winner of the event.

The main objective of the organisers is to raise money for the charity One Drop, with charity chairman and Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté the main driver of the initiative.

ESPN reports that $111,111 out of each $1 million buy-in will be donated to the water provision charity, with the rest going into a rake-free prize pool.

A slew of major international online and live aces have already committed themselves to the tournament, including Patrik Antonius, Gus Hansen, Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, Tom Dwan, Tony Guoga, Jonathan Duhamel, and Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier.
