Greinke (5-2, 3.66) didn’t make it out of the third inning of an 8-5 loss in Arizona and online betting USA sharps would have watched the former Cy Young winner give up seven runs on 10 hits, walking three and striking out three. He is now 2-2 in five road starts in 2012 with an ERA of 7.03 and you just never know how he is going to pitch when Greinke is away from Miller Park, but over his entire career, which began in Kansas City, he has an ERA of 4.30 on the road as opposed to 3.38 at home. The 28-year-old has never pitched at Dodger Stadium before, but he is 1-0 in three starts against the Dodgers with an ERA of 2.57.
The Dodgers counter with Chad Billingsley (2-3, 3.88), who took a no-decision in a 6-3 win at home over Houston, scattering a pair of runs on five hits over five innings with eight strikeouts and three walks, and now he hasn’t won in eight starts since winning his first two starts of the season. While the Dodgers are rising at sports betting sites, they’ll need Billingsley to raise his game just a little as reigning Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw and Chris Capuano are carrying the rotation. The 27-year-old has a no-decision against the Brewers from a game in Milwaukee in April, and he is now 2-1 in eight games (six starts) in his career against them with a 4.31 ERA. Billingsley is also 1-1 in six home starts in 2012 with an ERA of 3.66.
Los Angeles should be the sport betting favorites at home as these two wrap up a four-game set in which the Brewers won the first two games of the series. The staff aces, Kershaw and Yovani Gallardo, will be on the mound on Wednesday night, so the hitters could be a little worn out from dealing with them and that’ll make it easier on Billingsley and Greinke, but it’s tough to get behind Milwaukee as Greinke, who suffers from anxiety, just can’t seem to bring his “A” game on the road. You have to wonder if his affliction has something to do with his performance away from road, but it could be a factor, so take the Dodgers when you bet at the best online sportsbook.
