New CakePoker Software

4/29/10 – Cake Poker may have lost two major network members in Sportsbook and Players Only recently, but the online poker network has continued to invest in its technology, announcing this week that it is about to launch a private beta test program on a new poker client.

“We are excited to launch the private beta for our new Cake Poker client and to get some further feedback on our efforts,” said Lee Jones, a leading driver of the new interface and the Cake Poker Card Room Manager.

“We are delighted at the how the client is currently operating and looking forward to being able to offer an improved online poker experience to all our players,” he added.

Jones revealed some of the new features built in to the new client:

* Main lobby stretches both horizontally and vertically

* Excel-like multi-field sorting and advanced filtering for detailed game/tournament choice

* Tournament listing permits direct registration

* Tournament lobby includes links to satellites

* Tables scale down to "industry standard" minimum size

* Chat box detaches for management as a separate window

* Players can customize card backs, table felt, and “carpet”

* Tournament notifier allows players to filter out any/all tournament notices

* Players can put upcoming tournaments on calendar to be reminded later

Cake’s software developers consulted with both cash and tournament players and went through a rigorous process of review and debugging in the development process for the new client.

Once the private beta testing phase has been successfully completed, the network plans to launch the wider public beta phase in which the new software will be available to all players in parallel with the existing client. Throughout the user testing Cake will continue to incorporate player feedback into the new client. Check Out The New Cake Poker.
