Calvin Ayre invests in new Antigua Business Center

WORK BEGINS ON NEW ANTIGUA BUSINESS SERVICES CENTRE

Online gambling entrepreneur Calvin Ayre invests in new centre for international business outsourcing.

High profile online gambling entrepreneur Calvin Ayre has apparently partnered with the government of Antigua and Barbuda in the introduction of an international business process outsourcing venture (by definition that includes elements like support centers) titled Champion Services.

Ayre joined with government officials this week in a ground-breaking ceremony for a five-story centre on Antigua which will be home for the venture. The "green" building will be solar powered and provide employee-friendly services like catering, a gym and child care.

Minister of Economic Investment Asot Michael described the venture as a partnership between the government of Antigua and Barbuda and Ayre, whom he praised as a long time leading investor and employer on the Caribbean island.

The minister added that the $25 million BPO facility would help promote economic activity, creating 150 construction jobs and the possibility of at least 300 to 400 well-paid jobs for islanders once completed.
