Perhaps prompted by the resurgence of interest in online gambling following the recent attempts at legalization at federal and state level in the United States, CNBC re-broadcast three old ‘Sixty Minutes' television programs under the broad title ‘Gambling Aces' this week.
 
The special program saw parts of three different '60 Minutes' programs aired again, with the oldest dating from 2005, and others from 2008.
 
The Cereus online poker network, now under new ownership and significantly forward of the disastrous past history of network sites UltimateBet.com and Absolute Poker.com, is unlikely to have been pleased to have the hole card and other cheating issues dug up again, but scandals have a way of reappearing like that…something operators should perhaps bear in mind.
 
One of the 2008 stories focused on the remarkable Steve Wynn, who's career in the gambling industry has included the building of stunning venues like the Encore, Golden Nugget (in its day), the Mirage and the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
 
Also from 2008 was a now dated look at the internet gambling industry and its rapid growth despite political opposition in the United States.
