The Finnish online gambling company Ålands Penningautomatförening (PAF) has inked a 3 year shirt sponsorship deal with the Spanish Primera Liga football club Atlético de Madrid.
Sporting Business reports that as a new Atlético sponsor, the PAF logo will appear both on the players’ shorts and on their training gear. The agreement was signed this week by Enrique Cerezo (President of Club Atlético de Madrid) and Jannik Svahnseron, the International Marketing Director of PAF.
PAF will provide a bespoke online gambling site for Atletico early in 2009 as part of the agreement, furnishing the best odds on Atlético’s matches, promotions to win tickets and VIP packages to key games and providing news and information direct from the players and managers of the club.
Atletico will permit PAF advertising at its stadium and training ground, the 55 000-seat Vicente Calderon Stadium.
Cerezo pointed out that “PAF is additionally operates gaming activities on a large number of cruise ships. "They have proved that they are a great brand and committed to the world of sports, which they support in all of their aspects through sponsorship, in addition to their numerous and important ways of cooperating with society,” he said.
Svahnseron commented that PAF is a gaming operator with a strong focus on internationalisation. "We provide land-based, on-board and on-line gaming. In the area of charity last year we donated Euros 20 million, which makes us quite unique in the gaming industry, and proves that gaming can, in the end, be offered for good causes.”
