Fox SPorts and WPT In TV Poker Deal

Three-year deal will provide American broadcaster with over 100 hours of programming
U.S. TV broadcaster Fox Sports Networks will provide poker fans with another three years of coverage of the World Poker Tour land-based poker tournament in an agreement signed this week.
Programming will begin from 29 August 2013 with coverage of World Poker Tour (WPT) Season XII kicking off at the Bicycle Casino in California.
“Our strategy of global expansion is now being fully realised,” said Adam Pliska, President for the World Poker Tour.  “From 18 events in Season VIII to nearly 60 main tour, regional and national events in Season XI, World Poker Tour will provide Fox Sports Networks with nearly 100 hours of original programming over the course of this agreement.
"With the greater support and distribution that our new deal provides, World Poker Tour is now guaranteed to make up a major share of the best-in-class United States television poker real estate for years to come.”
“We are thrilled to be partnering with World Poker Tour for the next three years,” added David Sussin, Programming Vice-President for Fox Sports Network.  "World Poker Tour has delivered record viewers over the past two seasons and that is a testament to the consistent quality of the show and World Poker Tour’s position as the world’s premiere provider of poker programming.”
