ARJEL PRESIDENT CAUTIONS ON FRENCH TAXATION

For some months now online gambling companies have been complaining about the disadvantages of operating in the French market principally on high taxation with certain major groups indicating that they are holding back from the market because of these drawbacks.
 
Jean-Francoise Vilotte, President of France’s regulatory authority, ARJEL has raised the issue of a problematic economic model with regard to sports betting at a review held by the Finance Committee of the French Senate reports Les Echos.
 
Vilotte voiced the concerns of operators who believe taxation is too heavy and the rate of return to players too low.
