No French Gambling Tax Changes For Now

Online gambling operators in the French market have been almost universally critical of the excessively high tax rate, claiming that it is undermining the possibilities for successful business, and the subject will certainly be on the agenda of the mandatory review of the liberalisation laws which takes place later this year.
 
However, positive changes are unlikely before 2012, according to the French minister for Budget, François Baroin.
 
Speaking at the launch of the new Consultative Committee of Games last week, Baroin said that tax reform is not appropriate at the moment and will not happen this year. He said this aspect would be considered in the late 2011 review, but that practical changes would not take place before the presidential elections in May 2012..
