Dwan in nosebleed action at Fulltilt Poker

3/5/11 : In more nosebleed action Dwan and a recent arrival profit

Big bucks continued to cross the virtual high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker this week, with Tom Dwan's fortunes making a welcome turnaround, and a recent arrival cleaning up against more established names.

Dwan has been battling so far this year, down over a million dollars, but his skill and determination paid off in an exciting session that saw him hoover up a total of $363 000 over some 1 725 hands of $500/$1 000 Pot Limit Omaha and $50/$100 NLHE. Dwan's main ‘donator' in his successful evening was Andreas Torbergsen.

Stealing much of the Dwan thunder was a comparatively recent arrival in the nosebleed section using the ‘handle' XWINK, who had the railbirds a-twitter with some hefty action – 4 973 hands – and an end-of-session overall profit of $646 000, most of it from French high-staker Rui Cao.

That brought XWINK's take-home over just two or three sessions to an impressive $1.2 million, and among his victims this week were the likes of Jared Bleznick and David Benefield, mainly on $300/$600 PLO.

Benefield's latest session was a nightmare, plundering his bankroll of $553 000 and pushing him into the red.

XWINK is reportedly – and this has yet to be confirmed – a daring and skilful young internet poker gun playing from Vancouver in Canada's North West. Poker News has linked him with XBLINK, who caused a stir on UltimateBet several years ago by turning $11 into a seriously large account balance. Using the handle XWINK, it is claimed that the same young player next appeared on the Full Tilt high stakes tables before dropping out of sight, only to return with a vengeance this week.

Railbirds are hoping to see more of XWINK and his audacious and stylish action…and of course there's always that morbid fascination with the possibility that a fall can be as spectacular as a run of victories!
