TWO TESTING AGENCIES ACHIEVE NEVADA LICENSING

Friday June 22, 2012 : TWO TESTING AGENCIES ACHIEVE NEVADA LICENSING

Gaming Laboratories International and BMM International approved by Nevada Gaming Control Board

Gaming Laboratories International and BMM International became the first testing agencies to be licensed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board Thursday, qualifying the two companies to independently test the integrity of slot machines and other gambling equipment for the regulator.

The Gaming Control Board's technology division has been conducting the tests for decades, but a law from the 2011 legislative session opened the door for that work to be outsourced to independent labs.

Board chairman Mark Lipparelli says gambling technology is advancing at faster and faster speeds, and using independent labs will allow Nevada to stay ahead and provide regulatory services in a timeous manner.

The Board's technology division will now focus on setting policy, certifying testing labs and keeping abreast of technology trends.
