HI-TECH GAMBLING LAUNCHED IN OREGON

Thursday,  November 3, 2011 : Punters at the ultra-modern iGaming Lounge get to use iPads for gambling

The Oregon land casino operator Mill Casino Hotel has been successful in introducing a fusion of WiFi-enabled and land gambling action using iPads in its ultra-modern iGaming Lounge, giving punters a taste of how online technologies can be entertaining and convenient.

In a pioneering move for Oregon, the management has introduced a new gaming system, designed by Acres 4.0, that allows guests to select from a variety of casino games that are available on the iPad and connected to the casino through a highly secure wireless network. The wireless network allows players to take their personal gaming devices anywhere in the lounge to play with a group of friends or to simply to find a quiet spot to themselves.

General manager Larry Close observed that personalised gaming is a significant factor in the popularity of iPad devices, which makes iPad -based games a natural next step for casino gaming.

“We all have seen how the iPad and similar mobile devices have contributed to the personal choices and personal styles of their users,” Close said. “We created our iGaming Lounge in that same spirit of personal choice by using the devices as a way to further personalise the casino gaming experience for our guests.”

Players entering the lounge are greeted by an iGaming host who will provide them with a personal gaming device as well as help them get started playing the games. Special room lighting is in place to enhance the visual impact of the games, and customised seating in the lounge is designed for guest comfort and ease of play.

“We really view this room as a whole new way for guests to enjoy the entertainment value of casino gaming,” Close said. “Whether they are with a group, a partner or on their own, we want to help guests at The Mill to create their own casino experience.”
