Latest com.Score numbers again illustrate the popularity of internet gambling sites
The statistical measurement firm com.Score's July 2010 report on internet activity again illustrates the universal popularity and interest in online gambling, with gambling related websites among the highest gainers compared with the month of June 2010.
Online gambling sites attracted a total of 13.4 million unique visitors during July.
Part of July's 11 percent gains in unique visitors came from interest in the annual World Series of Poker tournament, which drove traffic to online gambling sites during the month, especially once the main event had started.
"The World Series of Poker tournament brought out the competitive side of Americans in July, prompting millions to visit online gambling sites to test their card-playing skills," said Jeff Hackett, senior vice president of comScore Media Metrix.
