NEVADA WARNS ON CARD COUNTING IPHONE APP

An old caution is given new life

A February 2009 warning that land casinos need to be on the lookout for an iPhone card counting blackjack app resurfaced this week.

The Nevada Gambling Commission, prompted by the experiences of a Californian Indian land casino, cautioned casinos under their authority regarding the dangers of card counters using the app as a card counting aid.

Associated Press reports that although card counting is not illegal under Nevada gambling laws, it is considered a felony to use devices to help count cards.
