Poker Hastings Crushes isildur1

3/18/10 – Mystery high stakes online poker ace Isildur1, who was up $845 000 on the Full Tilt tables as the weekend closed, has suffered a serious reversal of fortune and skill since the last InfoPowa report, with his bankroll taking a massive $1 790 744 hit, most of it thanks to his old enemy Brian Hastings.

As the weekend closed, Isildur1 was up $845 000 and facing his old nemesis Hastings, but had already lost $150 000 in the first 1 500 hands of $500/$1 000 PLO over the six tables the duo were playing heads up.  This quickly escalated to $350 000 in losses, but became catastrophic over the following 1 210 hands as Hastings totally dominated the Swede, winning $1.6 million from him.

Whilst not as soul-destroying as last year's $4.2 million loss to Hastings, it was nevertheless a harrowing experience for Isildur1, yet it did not deter him.

Isildur1 was still game for more action when Hasting logged off, and mixed it up with Ilari Sahamies on $200/$400 PLO, where he won $65 000 before the two switched to $300/$600 PLO, where Isildur1 lost $350 000 to his Finnish opponent.

With a depleted bankroll, the mystery Swede stayed on to play Cole South on the $25/$50 PLO tables, but he was again beaten, this time for $30 000, and he retired, down a painful $1 790 744.

According to the independent online poker stats provider MarketPulse, last week's big winners were Tom Dwan (up $1.17 million); Brian Hastings (up $1.14 million); and Ilari Sahamies (up $946 000).

Losers for the week ended March 15 were headed by Gus Hansen (down $1.29 million); Cole South (down 1.28 million) and Isildur1 (down $1.11 million).

Tom Dwan continues to head the "top earners in 2010" list at +$3.59 million), pursued by Alexander Kostritsyn (up $2.43 million).
