Monday September 17,2012 : MINIMUM 15 000 PLAYERS TO MAKE ISPT HAPPEN (Update)

Ambitious project can accommodate up to 30 000 players

Bernard Tapie's 2013 International Stadiums Poker Tour's, now scheduled for 31 May to 6 June 2013,  must register 15 000 players to go ahead and is able to accommodate 30 000 players in total.

According to an interview with Poker Strategy, head of marketing Georges Djen clarified how the ambitious tournament is envisaged to roll out, beginning with all players competing online against each other in-situ at London's Wembley Stadium.  The tournament would culminate with the top players in a live poker tournament at the Stadium playing down to one winner.

Three ticket options exist at present comprising a Euro 600 regular ticket, one seat with a rebuy or an add-on at Euro 1 200 or play direct at the live final at a cost of Euro 6 000.

Poker pro Michael Mizrachi, an ISPT ambassador, calculates a winners pay day of almost Euro 5 million based on a field of 25 000 players. "It will be something spectacular," he said.

The viability and organisation of the inaugural ISPT tournament has recently been met with scepticism from industry observers following rescheduled tournament dates and questions surrounding the prize pool.
