Italian Online Gambling Down

Latest AAMS numbers show GGR down 15 percent on April
 
The Italian online gambling industry continued to underperform in May 2012, delivering gross gaming revenues of Euro 57.4 million – down 15 percent on the numbers for the previous (April) month, and well short of the peak in February 2012 of Euro 78.9 million.
 
Breaking the numbers down, online bingo was a weak performer with GGR of Euro 3.7 million – an alarming 30 percent decline compared with the same period in 2011.
 
Online casino GGR did somewhat better at Euro 12 million;  and sports betting contributed Euro 7.85 million.
 
Combined poker reslts showed a heartening 10 percent annual increase, with poker cash games contributing Euro 18 million, although tournament returns were way down from 2011 results at Euro 12.5 million.
