An online player by the name of MrHanky111 has won the Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker's (LEOCOP) second event.

Each participant paid a $50 buy-in for the no-limit hold'em competition, but it was the Norwegian competitor who triumphed.

Ladbrokes added $10,000 to the prize pool, boosting MrHanky111's winnings to $16,887.51.

In addition, the online poker star earned an invitation to play in the online LEOCOP masters event where he will have the opportunity to win a spot in the semi-final of the Poker Million Seven.

He beat Chelsead in heads-up play when his pocket queens eventually took down his opponents A-10.

Edward Ihre, managing director of Ladbrokes Poker, commented: "The number of players from countries all over Europe playing in our festival is really gratifying, it's been a great start to the 2008 LEOCOP."

Ladbrokes' Poker Million Seven has a $1 million first prize and those who make it through to the final table will be on play on television.
