Merge planning a return to accepting new US action by July

Monday, July 18, 2011 : The online poker market is about to heat up again

Despite the depredations of Black Friday, it could be said that there has never been a better time for online poker players as the major operators boost promos and slash rake in an attempt to gather in players migrating from troubled Full Tilt Poker and other impacted sites.

One of the earliest networks to benefit from the misfortunes of Pokerstars, Cereus and FTP was Merge, which recorded massive gains in traffic before announcing in June that it was to temporarily restrict US activity in order to reorganise its administration to better handle the increased business.

Whilst existing players were not affected, new signups were.

According to reports on the respected and well-informed PocketFives information site, that lull in competition is about to end, with Merge planning a return to accepting new US action by the end of this (July) month.

However, the network will not be accepting US signups from the states of Washington, New York, Missouri and Louisiana.
