E-SPORTS HITS THE ROAD

Big Betty brings eSports to the people.

The eSports league developer ELC Gaming has invested in a mobile broadcasting and venue presence it has christened Big Betty to tour European venues broadcasting events and promoting the ELC League.

The concept arose from discussions between Ian Langstaff of WinMedia and John Hannigan, an executive with Allied eSports Property Network, which owns ELC Gaming. One of Hannigans responsibilities is lining up venues for eSports competitions, and the concept clearly has potential in that area.

The full equipped facility was rolled out this month in record time and appeared at Gamescon. It comprises a 31 tonne giant pantechnicon that is 5.2 meters high, 21.5 meters long, and is powered by a  440 horsepower motor.

The rig packs a rooftop lounge, a 6 meter outdoor screen; with another of 12 meters on the roof of the trailer, and 14 smaller but still substantial screens. The interior boasts 24 video gaming stations and a full-on broadcasting and editing technology suite with live streaming capability; high tech audio systems, and sophisticated lighting equipment.

Hannigan says that the rig will be on the road around Europe through 2017, broadcasting the Esport Legends Cup and other Allied eSports leagues and tournaments…and Big Betty will also be hired out to eSports companies for use at their events.
