PMU AND BWIN DOMINATE i-GAMING MONACO AWARDS

Inaugural presentation dinner well supported.

The major French gambling group Pari-Mutuel Urbaine (PMU) and Vienna listed online gambling giant Bwin Interactive (Bwin) dominated the awards for French regulated firms at the inaugural iGaming Monaco prize giving at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel this week.

The function was well attended by internet gambling experts and industry insiders, along with trade and general journalists.

Nominees were judged on reputation, site registration, ease of use, bonus prizes, look and feel, graphics and navigation.

Winning companies for 2010 were:

Best online sports betting operator: BWIN

Best online horse race betting operator: PMU

Best online poker operator: WINAMAX

Best online casino gaming operator: 888

Best mobile online betting and gaming operator: BWIN

Best online gaming television campaign: PMU

Best online gaming operator of the year: BWIN

RueDesJoueurs.com Special Award for the ‘Most Responsible Operator 2010': PMU

iGaming Monaco officials said that PMU's success was remarkable; historically, the company has been a horse race betting operator. Online gambling has only been legal in France since June of this year, and in four short months, PMU had succeeded in making it into the top three of six categories, from a total seven.

Winamax's victory over competitor Pokerstars.fr was also noteworthy.
