Mac Client For Microgaming Poker Network

Tuesday September 17,2013 :  MPN LAUNCHES NEW MAC OS ONLINE POKER CLIENT

Paf is first with new downloadable software

The Isle of Man online gambling software provider Microgaming announced Tuesday that Åland-based operator, Paf, is live with the Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) new downloadable Mac OS software.

Running in the Adobe Air framework, the new client is compatible with Mac operating systems. It has the same functionality as the MPN’s ‘instant play’ client, allowing users to take part in all Hold’em cash games, Sit ‘n’ Go’s and scheduled tournaments, as well as having the many additional benefits of a downloadable client.

“We are delighted to be the first MPN operator to go live with the Mac-compatible download software,” says Herbert Paradis, head of poker at Paf. “We know that our players who have Apple devices have been waiting for a downloadable client for some time, and now that we’ve joined the MPN, we are better able to meet our customers’ needs.”

The MPN’s new Mac client is just one of a suite of software platforms designed by Microgaming to cater for all player devices. The MPN also offers a downloadable PC client, a web-based Flash client and a state-of-the-art HTML5 client for mobile and tablet devices.

“Mac users are an important segment, but for years operators have been turning them away because they haven’t had dedicated software,” says Lydia Melton, head of network games at Microgaming.

“The MPN is one of only a few networks to offer a Mac-specific client and we are excited to see the uptake from players.”
