NBA MVP Favorites and Long Shots

Tuesday October 7,2014 : Your Top MVP Favorites and Long Shots

The NBA preseason has begun. You may officially start getting excited for the 2014-2015 campaign. With so many storylines on display heading into the new season, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Behind every team vying for the ring are individual contenders for the NBA MVP award.  The Cavaliers are the highest ranked team for the NBA Championship, and LeBron James leads all players for the MVP chase (3/2 to win).

The correspondence between elite teams and elite players isn’t always so simple. After Cleveland, San Antonio has the greatest odds of winning the NBA Championship. Their highest ranked player on the MVP list is Tony Parker (80/1). Individuals like Kevin Durant (11/4), Blake Griffin (9/1) and Derrick Rose (10/1) have established themselves as top-ranked players and, predictably, the sportsbook reflects it. Others like Anthony Davis (25/1) and LaMarcus Aldridge (33/1) are pillars on improving ball clubs and are intriguing for those looking for a big payout. Many would argue that James and Durant are the NBA’s best players.

Whether or not that means they’re the game’s most valuable is something that the basketball betting community will have to decide.
