DEADLINE WEEK FOR NEVADA ONLINE POKER

Do or die for internet poker legalization bill in the Assembly

A bill seeking to legalise online poker in Nevada is facing a crucial procedural deadline in the Assembly this week – the first house passage limit, meaning if a bill started in the Assembly, it has to pass a vote there in the full body by the deadline or it dies.

8NewsNow reports that bill AB258 is just one of several facing potential termination, ranging in content from motor cycle helmet repeal and discrimination to gun owner legalization. Authors of the bills and their supporters are now involved in a post-Easter rush to beat the deadline, trying to persuade other legislators to vote their bills forward.

AB258 was introduced by Assemblyman William Horne in the weeks before Black Friday, and has been heavily amended in its passage through committee stages.
