Phoenix shutting suspected internet gambling cafes

Two i-cafes shuttered.
The Arizona Department of Gaming is involved in enforcement moves in Phoenix that have shuttered two internet cafes accused of offering illegal online gambling.
ADG director Daniel Bergin says his department worked with the state Attorney General’s Office to seize about $20,000 and numerous weapons, vehicles and gambling devices in six locations across Phoenix, two of which were internet cafes. A further two venues were private homes where illegal activity was taking place.
Investigators also froze numerous bank accounts as part of the enforcement drive.
State Attorney General Mark Brnovich revealed to local reporters that he initiated the investigation when he was the director of the Department of Gaming.
