William Hill secures injunction against business partner Playtech
 
Industry observers are speculating on the exact nature of litigation by William Hill Plc against its partner Playtech Plc which surfaced this week.
 
In a press statement on williamhillplc.com the company said
 
William Hill PLC (William Hill) announces that it has, today, secured an interim injunction against Playtech Limited (Playtech) to ensure that its legal rights under the William Hill Online joint venture agreements are maintained.
 
Playtech recently initiated discussions with William Hill seeking possible significant amendments to the current William Hill Online joint venture agreements.  There has also been press speculation regarding discussions between Playtech and Ladbrokes plc.
 
William Hill is due to release its preliminary results on Friday 25 February which will be keenly anticipated by parties interested in more detail on the falling out.  The firm has stated that performance of the William Hill Online joint venture remains strong and that William Hill remains committed to the success of the William Hill Online joint venture.
