POKER PETITION NOW HAS ALMOST 8 000 SIGNATURES

Tuesday October 4, 2011 : White House moves the goal posts, but online poker legalization petition is safe
 
The White House "We the People" initiative, which invites petitions on US residents' concerns has attracted almost 8 000 signatories asking that online poker be legalised in the United States – well over the minimum 5 000 within 30 days required by officialdom.
 
However, this week the Administration shifted the goal posts, imposing more stringent requirements on petitioners before it will take their offerings into consideration.
 
The new limit is 25,000, but this will not apply to petitions already underway, such as the poker legalization effort, and the Poker Players Alliance continues to urge poker fans to sign up.
