Robbie Bull wins UKIPT main event

Tuesday October 8, 2013 : SCOTSMAN VICTORIOUS IN U.K.I.P.T. LONDON MAIN EVENT

Robbie Bull takes home GBP 113,405.

Twenty-one-year-old Scots online poker player Robbie Bull's tweet after taking down the UKIPT main event Monday for GBP 113,405 says it all:

"Sweet Jesus. Dream final table. Everything went my way."

The fourth edition of the Pokerstars United Kingdom Ireland Poker Tour stop in London this week saw 747 hopefuls enter for the main event, generating a prize pool of GBP 724,590.

Five days later Bull faced a final table that comprised UK players Ian Simpson, Jack Salter, Karl Mahrenholz, Patryk Slusarek and Paul Zimbler, along with Lasse Frost from Denmark and Italian player Dario Sammartino.

In the heads up, it was Ian Simpson vs. Bull with the former holding a small chip lead, which persuaded the duo to agree to a chop in which Simpson would receive GBP 106,869.23 and Bull GBP 103,405.77, with GBP 10,000 on the table for the victor, along with the trophy.

In the event, it was Bull who reversed Simpson’s lead, going on to build an intimidating advantage before eliminating Simpson and claiming his biggest reward yet.

Other final table cashes looked like this:

3rd Jack Salter GBP 59,125
4th Lasse Frost GBP 44,635
5th Dario Sammartino GBP 35,360
6th Karl Mahrenholz GBP 26,735
7th Patryk Slusarek GBP 19,200
8th Paul Zimbler GBP 13,115

Pokerstars has confirmed that the Isle of Man has been included on its UKIPT schedule for the first time this year.

The Isle of Man is Pokerstars' home, and an added attraction for players will be the opportunity to visit the online poker giant's headquarters at Onchan, where an Open House is planned with guided tours of the development, server and other facilities.

The company is using the opportunity to showcase career opportunities at its establishments on the island and in London and Dublin.

The tournament is scheduled for October 30 to November 4 and will include a GBP 1,100 Main Event with a GBP 500,000 guarantee. Pokerstars employees will be permitted to play in all the events.
