NEW AD CAMPAIGN FOR VIRGIN BINGO

1/27/2012 : Willy Wonka meets Virgin Bingo in latest promotional effort

Virgin Games-owned website Virgin Bingo has launched a new television campaign forming part of a GBP 500 000 marketing campaign scheduled to run in the first quarter of 2012.

Based on the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" theme, the advert is a departure from its previous animated advertisements and features a woman taken on a backstage tour of an imaginary Virgin Bingo factory where she is met by enthusiastic Virgin Staff rather than oompa loompa's.

The 30-second advert produced by ABF Pictures is targeted at the women between 25 and 54 demographic and will run a day-time schedule on Five, a range of Sky UK and ITV channels.  It is scheduled to run for multiple campaigns throughout the year.

Simon Burridge, chief executive officer of Virgin Games, commented: "This new advert has a flavour of Willy Wonka for adults about it. It has lots of energy, excitement and fun – just what consumers have come to expect from a Virgin advert."

Matt Barraclough, creative director at ABF Pictures, added: "We were thrilled to have the opportunity of working with the Virgin Games team.  A brand like Virgin allows us to think bigger and look at online bingo in a different way. We wanted to stand out from traditional bingo commercials and do it in a very Virgin way."
