Wsop Event 43 Final Results

Wednesday June 29,2011 : Three more players have claimed gold in World Series of Poker events in Las Vegas, including one – Rep Porter – who won his second piece of poker jewellery.

Event 43: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em was another of this year's World Series of Poker competitions that spilled over into a fourth day Tuesday after the heads up between Andre Akkari of Brazil and Nachman Berlin of the USA was unsettled on the ten level mark of the third day.

On Tuesday the two players resumed their battle royal with Berlin well ahead on 9.46 million against Akkari's more modest 3.4 million chip stack.

The duo was all that remained of a massive entry field for the event of 2,857 that had originally included many of the world's top poker players.

Tuesday's action started very slowly, with the players taking several hours just to even the chip stacks. Then Akkari managed to pull a huge double with his ace-eight against Berlin's king-queen, and from there on in it was only a matter of a few hands before he secured the match and claimed his first bracelet and the $675,117 main prize.

Berlin's magnificent but unsuccessful effort was rewarded with a second placing prize of $419,173 in what many seasoned WSOP observers asserted to be one of the most exciting finishes yet.
