888 To Launch Real Money Gambling On Facebook

Social gamers in the UK will be the first to benefit
The Gibraltar-based internet gambling group 888.com announced Wednesday that it has entered, through a wholly owned subsidiary, into an agreement with social gaming giant Facebook to launch real-money products in the United Kingdom.
The deal will see 888 offer its real money online casino , bingo and slot games through the Facebook platform, with bingo – probably the Island Bingo game – the first app to be launched. Casino games including slots and other popular offerings that may include poker will soon follow, a spokesman said.
“888 has long recognised the potential for social gaming," said 888 chief operating officer Itai Frieberger this week. "Our Facebook play-for-fun offerings have found a significant audience, and we are very excited by the opportunity that real money gaming on Facebook provides.
"We are working closely with Facebook on this launch, ensuring we introduce the best of both worlds of real money and social gaming”
Julien Codorniou, head of games partnerships for Facebook in Europe, said: “Facebook is a great platform for playing games with your friends and we are really pleased to be working with 888, who have a strong reputation on both the quality and safety of their games”
