EXCLUSIVE KENYAN ONLINE GAMBLING TRIAL FOR AMAYA

Fresh from its award of Kenyan and Dominican licences, Canadian entertainment solutions provider, Amaya Gaming is in the news again this week.
Amaya Gaming announced that it has been selected by the Betting Control and Licensing Board of Kenya to operate an online gaming evaluation study. This selection has been granted on an exclusive basis to evaluate the merits, potential, and prevalence of online gaming, as well as to ensure that those who are under-aged cannot have access to online gaming in the Republic of Kenya.
The group quotes from an industry report undertaken by Global Betting and Gaming Consultants that Kenya has a population of nearly 39 million residents and the global online gaming market is estimated to have reached a value in excess of $29 billion in 2010 and is forecasted to grow by another 14 percent in 2011.

Commenting on the online gaming test case study, the Honorable Lucas Maitha, Chairman of the Betting Control and Licensing Board of Kenya stated "many online gaming sites were operating in our country without our knowledge and approval. As such, we believe that the valuable insights we will certainly gain from the online gaming test case study conducted by Amaya will provide us with the ability to fully evaluate online gaming and therefore properly formulate appropriate rules and regulations."
The online gambling website is estimated to go live as soon as the second quarter of 2011.
