Daniel Negreanu has blasted the Bellagio for upholding betting procedures which he believes are unfair and can be exploited by players.

According to the four-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner, the Las Vegas hotel's rules feature a loophole for the unscrupulous player.

He explained in his blog at Full Contact Poker that only chips that touch the betting line count as a bet unless the player has made a verbal commitment to the pot.

However, Negreanu argued that if a gamer splashes chips to call but is careful not to let them touch the line or say anything, once the opponent shows their cards they can then retract the bet as it is not technically in the pot.

Even more surprising, the player who showed his cards can then be penalised for showing in the middle of a hand.

This technique can also be used to push in large amounts of chips to make other players fold. If they fold, the pot can be taken but if they call, players can legally take back their chips.

To date, Daniel Negreanu has had 34 cashes at the WSOP, 17 at the World Poker Tour as well as seven final table appearances.
