Scamming Uk Tipster Dave Beddington Racing

Thursday February 28,2013 : TOP UK BOOKIE DENIES ANY ASSOCIATION WITH TIPSTER

UK racing punters beware of this mystery man and his claims

Those who lie about their associations with people and companies present a better than even chance that they may be dodgy in other areas, too, so British punters be warned about a man claiming to be a racing tipster and to have an association in the past with top UK bookmaking firm Stan James plc.

A number of UK racing punters have received mysterious text messages from a person claiming to be connected to Stan James plc, the Gibraltar-licensed operator of www.stanjames.com.

The messages typically claim:

"Just to introduce myself I am a pro gambler and have been working as an advisor for Stan James in Gibraltar for the past 3 years. I have now decided to go it alone and am looking for clients. Please accept this first winner on me and hopefully We can do some business afterwards. [free tip given here – ed.] I will be in touch soon Dave Beddington Racing."

However, Stan James plc has no knowledge of this person, who is apparently trying to ride on the back of the company's impressive reputation for integrity.

Tim Cook, a director and general counsel for the company said Wednesday:

"Stan James plc is not now, and never has been, connected with Dave Beddington, Dave Beddington Racing or with any other private horse racing tipster. As we are uncertain of the intentions behind this text message and have nothing to do with it, we feel it is prudent to warn the industry and our customers about this."
