12/05/2012 : FINAL TABLE POKER ON FUND RAISING DRIVE
Social poker game based on real-life tournament play
A new social poker initiative dubbed Final Table Poker by KibiApps is looking for investors to develop its product further.
The game, developed primarily for Facebook, is a poker game based on real-life No Limit Texas Hold'em poker hands played by poker professionals in major tournaments and televised high stakes cash games.
Players sit at the virtual final table taking action and attempt the same play as the poker pro played the actual hand and ultimately winning a major tournament.
California-based Kibiapps, comprises a team of five which is headed up by Sharon Shani, co-founder and chief executive officer.
The fledgling company is looking for funding to develop the game to its full potential utilising the Kickstarter funding platform for creative projects in its investor drive. Funds pledged through Kickstarter will be used to "add hundreds of interesting hands into the game, build fun tournaments and further develop the application to provide the most advanced gaming experience possible."
The Kickstarter platform claims to have funded 30 000 creative projects with a total of $350 million pledged on a wide range of projects from over 2.5 million people since its inception in 2009.
Sharon Shani, chief executive officer of KibiApps says, “There is currently no other poker game like this on the market. We wanted to create a game that appeals to true poker fans—players who want the experience of sitting down at the final table of a major tournament. Our team is made up of die-hard poker fans and that’s why we are turning to other poker fans on Kickstarter to help bring Final Table Poker to the masses. Poker games are currently controlled by giants such as Zynga and others and it is stifling innovation. We think that with the help of the poker community we can bring something new to the market.”
