Poker pro bests field of 433 to take the honours in the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown

Recent college grad and relatively unknown young pro Taylor Von Kriegenbergh continued to make a name for himself Monday by taking down the main prize in the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown in Hollywood, Florida.

It was Von Kriegenbergh's biggest win yet, far eclipsing his $200 000 in career winnings to date as he claimed the $1,122,340 first prize, along with a $25 000 seat in the WPT World Championship, a WPT bracelet, and the Seminole Hard Rock Showdown trophy.
Fighting his way through a field of 433, Von Kriegenbergh ultimately faced off against a final table that included Justin Zaki, Abbey Daniels, Allen Bari, WPT champ Tommy Vedes and Borgata Summer Open winner Curt Kohlberg.

Holding a chip lead double that of his nearest rival, Von Kriegenbergh managed to hold off fierce and aggressive competition and, but for a short time when he lost the lead, he was in command of the game.

Justin Zaki went out in third place, leaving the field clear for the heads up between Von Kriegenbergh and Curt Kohlberg, which the former tied up in only eight hands.

Kohlberg took home the second placing check for $586 109.

All six final tablers enjoyed six figure pay days, with the first and lowest paid elimination, Tommy Vedes, picking up a check for $166 272.
