New Spanish Gambling Licence Owners

Operator and software awards on deadline
 
The Spanish General Directorate for the Regulation of Gambling kept to its June 1 deadline with the award today of a number of licences to operate in the newly legislated Spanish market.
 
bwin.party digital entertainment confirmed receipt of its licence authorising the company to operate online sports betting, poker, bingo, blackjack and roulette which will be offered on three online websites namely; bwin.es, Party Poker.es and a new localised brand Binguez.es.
 
The company is aiming for a market leading position for all five products leveraging on brand awareness it created with its sponsorship of Real Madrid. bwin will launch all three brands on a new, fully integrated gaming platform.
 
Also jockeying for a top position in the market will be 888 Holdings whose licence award covers online casino, poker, bingo and sports betting.
 
Brian Mattingley, chief executive officer of 888, commented: "Spain is an important market for 888, accounting for 5 percent of our revenue in 2011".
 
New licencee Prima Networks Spain plc (PNS), powered by Microgaming, is authorised to supply its software to a number of the operators in the Spanish market.
 
The company will provide a wide mix of products including Flash Casino, Download Casino, Poker and Bingo.
 
JAXX SE Group's Spanish subsidiary will offer poker, roulette, blackjack, bingo and other casino games on Net Bet.es following the award of its licence.  The company expects to go live within the month of June.
 
Further licence awards are reported to include Ladbrokes, Bet365, William Hill, PokerStars, GTech G2, Codere and Cirsa.
