Olimp signed up with global sports betting supplier BetGenius

Wednesday, November 16, 2011 :  It's a difficult environment, but OLIMP rules the sports betting roost

Whilst gambling is apparently not the most popular activity with Kazakhstan politicians , one bookmaking company in the eastern nation and former satellite of Russia, OLIMP, appears to be prospering, and this week signed up with global sports betting supplier BetGenius.

Reportedly the largest bookie in the country, OLIMP has inked an agreement to license the Betgenius In-Play Manager product to generate in-running events, odds and lines for its online customers and retail outlets in Kazakhstan, South Africa and Russia.

The product will provide OLIMP with the opportunity to offer thousands of in-running football events every month to its customers across nearly 500 leagues and competitions, according to Andrew Phillips, business development manager at Betgenius Limited.

“This marks new ground for Betgenius in the Central Asia Region, said Phillips. "We’re especially pleased to be offering our services to not only the OLIMP online sportsbook but also to their retail outlets which again is a new step forward for our company.”

Anarbek Zhauyrov, owner of OLIMP, said that the BetGenius product would be incorporated into his company's existing in-running software.

"We expect it to not only streamline our current operations but also to give us the edge with our expansion into the European market,” he said.

With both an online sportsbook and retail outlets in Kazakhstan, Russia and South Africa, OLIMP KZ has been licensed as a bookmaker in Kazakhstan since May 2007, and in South Africa since November 2009 by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.
