PartyPoker update creates issues Delays Pokerfest

Saturday September 26,2015 : SOFTWARE HASSLES DELAY POKERFEST TOURNAMENT

PartyPoker update creates issues.

PartyPoker director of games Golan Shaked has apologised to the player community for the company's decision to postpone the 80-event Pokerfest tournament for a month due to technical problems.

Carrying $2.5 million in guarantees, Pokerfest was scheduled to kick off this Sunday (September 27) but a last-minute decision to postpone was made on Friday, apparently due to network performance issues created by a recent software update.

In a bid to placate players, Shaked announced that the company has added a $50,000 free roll to the updates schedule as a gesture of goodwill.

“I apologize to our loyal players for having to delay this highly anticipated event," Shaked said in a company statement. "With a total prize pool of $2,500,000 up for grabs, we are not willing to take even the slightest risk with our players’ experience during the 80 events that make up Pokerfest."

The revised Pokerfest schedule will be published soon on the Partypoker website.

Shaked assured players that those who have already registered will have their buy-ins credited back to their accounts, while tickets won via satellites will remain valid for the revised Pokerfest schedule.

Last year Pokerfest was among several tournaments organised by PartyPoker which ran into difficulties due to Gibraltar Internet Service Provider problems, and later in 2014 both PartyPoker and 888 experienced issues due to DDoS attacks.
