Posted 3/15/11 : Fed up with handwriting notes or keeping a spreadsheet? Here's an app that will help.

For the legions of slot players who keep detailed records of their online action to inform their future efforts, one of the grinds is having the discipline to make the necessary data entries or hand-written notes. But no more – now there's an iTunes app that will do the donkey work, according to the publication Gamblecraft.

Released earlier this year, the WinLoss Slot Player’s Diary was developed by David Walstead's company Sandcroft Inc and sells for $8 on the iTunes site.

Walstead started considering issues such as the importance of tracking internet slot action to the serious player; the time and practicality of checking and collecting gambling information while playing Internet slot machines, and the feasibility of keeping track of where one has played and what bonuses were offered.

His conclusions led to the development of the new app, which has apparently been enjoying a positive response from internet slot aficionados.

The software is the first among the applications developed by Illinois-based Sandcroft, Inc., a family owned business that commenced operations in 2010, headed by software expert Walstead.

Walstead observed that a multitude of applications are available, but that few if any really addressed the needs of serious slots players in terms of recording their action, and where and when it took place.

Seeing a niche in the market, Walstead developed the WinLoss Slot Player’s Diary, which allows the user to generate reports that will show the slot machine activity at various sites. It will also assess which among the online casino games is the most generous…. and it creates documentation to support tax reports at the end of the year. Results may be viewed directly on screen or emailed.

The application can be used on an iPhone/iPod touch, and while the online casino slot machine is being played, the software tracks information from the game. A detailed report can be generated and exported in pdf format for tax purposes, along with a variety of other reports. And full data Backup and Restore functions are available via email.

Players can sort data by location of play; type of slot action; day/time/week; and specific game, and a recent upgrade will permit an unlimited number of entries.
