Veteran Full Tilt Poker pro Steve Brecher is $1 025 000 wealthier this weekend after beating respected poker ace Kathy Liebert in the heads up to claim the top spot in World Poker Tour's Bay 101 Shooting Star tournament.

Brecher held a 2.5 to 1 chip lead over Liebert going into the heads up, after almost 12 hours of final table action.

The final table contestants were all into six-figure check territory, with second placed Liebert taking home $550 000 and the rest of the table collecting checks as follows:

3rd Place: $291 500
4th Place: $230 000
