Webcam Poker Room

3/29/10 – Tom Horn Enterprises Inc. out of Bratislava and Costa Rica-based Diamond Bay Ltd. have partnered up to provide webcam-based online poker action from a land poker room location.

Branded FacePokerLive.com, the operation offers Texas holdem ring games, prize tournaments and a special league connected directly to the Celebrity Poker Tour land tables.

FacePokerLive.com poker software is completely web based, on an Adobe Flash platform, opening up play to Mac, PC or Linux users.

Jim Harwey, managing director of Diamond Bay says: “Seeing your rival’s face and the possibility to talk is a crucial element for us to launch [in] a completely new poker room. We would like to attract not just poker players currently bored by the same-game-again but also completely new players who love poker in its live form. Our target market is primarily Central Europe”.

Face Poker also rids the players of doubt or suspicion whether or not they are playing against a robot, claims Harwey – and it brings real emotions in a poker-faced world on screen. What’s more, Face Poker can be combined with traditional online casino platforms or implemented to third party gaming solutions such as existing poker networks or live dealer game solutions.

Jan Horyna, business director at Tom Horn Enterprises said that his company'  Face Poker technology is a webcam-based full poker solution where individual players can see each other as well as communicate with each other using a chat module.“I am very happy that our latest technology can finally reach the ones for whom we developed it, the real poker player” he said this week.

David Holubek, a director of Celebrity Poker Tour, says: “We have refused several offers [to particpate in livepoker over the Internet] from the big poker rooms. They do not have the fun element which is our core value.

"When I saw FacePokerLive.com, I knew from the very beginning that this is it.

Celebrity Poker” is a special land-based poker tournament with 25 Czech and Slovak land casinos currently involved, allowing poker players to play poker against regional celebrities such as TV and radio stars, beauty queens and top models.
