CALIFORNIA ONLINE POKER LEGALISATION REMAINS ON HOLD (Update)
But time is running out in this legislative season.
Hopes that California Assemblyman Adam Grays AB2863 online poker legalization bill would be considered by the Assembly on Thursday after it was pulled from the agenda at the beginning of this week were dashed when Gray again failed to present the measure, citing a lack of support and continuing negotiations on the "bad actor" obstacle to consensus.
Chris Grove of Online Poker Report tweeted Thursday: "Just heard that Gray will now not bring AB 2863 for a vote today, still alive for another day. Seems like support isnt there."
With the legislature scheduled to adjourn at the end of the month, time is now a critical element in whether the bill can make it through the Assembly and the Senate in the face of continued and mainly tribal disagreement on bad actor provisions.
